Backup Jobs Database in Visual Order Entry


We have a built in utility to help with backups.  Below are the steps to backup the Jobs database.

To perform a backup of your Jobs database:

  1. Open Quick Order Entry
  2. Go to the Tools Menu> Data Sources> SQL Server Admin.
  3. Click on the Backups Tab
  4. Select Create Backup.
    1. It will tell you the file path for the backup at the top and after the backup you can copy this file to an external source (drive or cloud folder)
    2. OR you can browse to an external location (drive or cloud folder) and backup directly to that location


IF you have your own backup utility/app and would like to backup the jobs database using that method, You will need to find the AWJobsDB.mdf and AWJobsDB.ldf files.
These files will be typically in one of these 4 locations
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQL2008EXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.ADVANCEWARE\MSSQL\DATA
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.SQL2008EXPRESS\MSSQL\DATA
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.ADVANCEWARE\MSSQL\DATA
